Concept & Direction
Finding one’s direction is often the hardest part. Our founder will meet with you, personally – sometimes even peeking into drawers and closets – to fully capture your dream vision of home. She listens closely to learn the colors, textures and styles that stimulate, calm, or uplift you. Finally, she reviews budget and timeline parameters, and from all this information creates a concept expressly for you. At the conclusion of our study, you will be presented with the Fleming Peters signature Design Box containing an overall direction and color story for your home. Organized by room, the Design Box includes paint and textile samples; loose sketches for furniture arrangements; recommended stone and hardware finishes; suggested bath and kitchen fixtures; and ideas for furniture, antiques, lighting, flooring and window treatments that will exemplify your concept and guide subsequent design decisions.
Design in Action
Once the initial design concept is approved, Fleming Peters will refine the plan, presenting you with proposals for each chosen item. This stage of the process includes precisely-scaled furniture plans and technical drawings for window treatments as well as detailed paint, lighting, hardware and finish schedules that may be handed directly to your contractor for ordering and installation. We see each item through to a successful conclusion and will visit workrooms regularly to make sure every item for which we are responsible is proceeding smoothly and will be installed perfectly.
Bespoke Furniture, Unrivaled Comfort & Craftsmanship
Fleming Peters scours the globe to find sublime antiques and textiles that will elevate your home far beyond the usual. Our in-house art department makes it possible to combine your love of history and beauty with the comfort and coziness of contemporary fabrication in the form of a wide selection of 18th and 19th century antiques. Full Service Presentation
Fleming Peters leaves no detail untouched. We complete each space in keeping with the design direction, handling all orders, trucking, storage, delivery and installation, thereby taking full responsibility for your project. As an added touch, on installation day, you will be charmed by small, thoughtful gestures including made beds, folded towels, lit candles, and even a full refrigerator! Step into your home, be presented with a chilled glass of champagne, and marvel over what you and Fleming Peters have created together.
Construction Management
If requested, Fleming Peters will serve as your representative with the construction team, saving you both time and energy. We will keep a close eye on the progress of your project to ensure that plumbing fixtures, appliances, flooring, and finishes are ordered and installed correctly and on schedule. We will conduct a weekly walk-through with the architect, builder, ourselves and you to make sure everything is proceeding smoothly and that all the professional relationships maintain a pleasant, helpful, and team-oriented spirit through the successful conclusion of your project.
